Microsoft: Windows 10 1909 Reaches End Of Service In May
Microsoft has reminded customers that some editions of Windows 10, version 1909 (also known as the November 2019 Update) will reach end of service in May 2021.
Microsoft stops providing technical support and fixes for newly discovered issues and security vulnerabilities for all products that reach their end of service.
Redmond advises customers still using end of service software to upgrade as soon as possible to the latest on-premise or cloud versions to keep their systems safe from attacks.
Other versions also reaching end of support in May
“On May 11, 2021, the Home, Pro, Pro Education, Pro for Workstations editions of Windows 10 version 1909 and all editions of Windows Server, version 1909 will reach end of service,” Microsoft says on the Windows 10 Health Dashboard.

Education and Enterprise editions of Windows 10 1909 will reach their end of service next year, on May 11, 2022. Several editions of Windows 10 versions 1803 and 1809 will also reach end of service on May 11, 2021, after Microsoft delayed it due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
In related news, yesterday Microsoft published an emergency out-of-band update to fix blue screen crashes when making WPA3 Wi-Fi connections on devices running Windows 10, version 1909 and Windows Server, version 1909.
Windows 10 2004 now in broad deployment
Microsoft announced last week that Windows 10, version 2004 has been added to the broad deployment channel and is now available to everyone via Windows Update.
If you are not offered to upgrade to Windows 10 2004 update via Window Update, you should check the Windows 10 Health Dashboard for known hardware blocks acknowledged by Microsoft that affect your computer.
According to current info displayed on the health dashboard, the only known blocks for Windows 10 2004 updates are for devices with Conexant ISST audio drivers.
Microsoft is also allowing a limited set of customers (with devices running Windows 10 1903 and higher) to upgrade to Windows 10, version 20H2, the latest released version.
Microsoft says that it’s “slowly throttling up availability over the coming weeks to ensure a reliable download experience.”
If you are running an older Windows 10 version, you are strongly advised to upgrade so that you can continue receiving timely security updates.
