TikTok Hits Back At U.S President Trump’s Executive Order
TikTok has released an official statement on the U.S President Trump’s executive order.
In its statement, TikTok expressed shock at the executive order which it claimed to be issued without any due process. The company added that it engaged with the U.S government in good faith for almost a year to find a constructive solution, but the U.S government shows “no due process or adherence to the law”. In addition, the U.S government is said to have paid no attention to facts and tried to interfere with negotiations between private businesses.

TikTok states that it will continue to pursue all remedies available to ensure that the rule of law is respected, and that the company and its users are treated fairly. It reiterated that user data is never shared with the Chinese government nor censored at its request. Microsoft is intenting to acquire TikTok’s U.S operations, but reports have surfaced that it could be looking at buying the global business.
