Mozilla Shares Fix For Netflix, Hulu Errors On Apple Silicon Macs
Mozilla has shared info on how to fix a known issue leading to errors on multiple video streaming platforms including Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, and Amazon’s Prime Video Prime on the Mac version of Firefox 84.
“If you’re on a Mac with Apple Silicon and are experiencing errors when trying to watch Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, Prime or another streaming service after installing Firefox 84+, you might need to install Rosetta,” Mozilla says in a recently published support document.
Missing Rosetta behind streaming issues
This happens because, as explained by Mozilla, Rosetta 2 is required on Macs with Apple Silicon to run apps built for Macs an Intel processor.
Rosetta 2 runs in the background and it works by translating apps specifically built for Intel processors for use on Apple Silicon.
Some of the error messages Firefox user might encounter when trying to use video streaming platforms:
- Netflix: Pardon the interruption. We’re having trouble playing Netflix…Error code F7702-1003
- Hulu: Can’t play title. We’re having trouble playing this video. Please try again later.
- Disney+: Something went wrong. Please try again…Error Code 83
- Amazon Prime: Video unavailable. We’re experiencing a problem playing this video…
