Microsoft Teams Calling Gets CarPlay Support, SPAM id Service, More
Microsoft has unveiled a new update for Microsoft Teams which it believes can help meetings be a little more seamless. The latest update for the popular collaboration platform includes a host of new features aimed at improving call experience.
The new Microsoft Teams additions include call transfer, spam reduction, CarPlay support, streamlined calling experience, and more.
Streamlined meeting experience
Microsoft is rolling out a new enhanced calling experience with a new screen to access the dialpad, call history, voicemail, contacts, and settings. In addition, Teams admins can now make OneDrive or SharePoint the default recording storage location, in place of Stream.
Microsoft is also introducing a new feature called CarPlay to improve the call experience when you’ve to attend the meeting in your car. With CarPlay, you’ll be able to use your vehicle’s built-in controls to operate Teams. For example, you can use Siri to place and answer calls.

Overhauled calling experience
Microsoft understands that spam calls are frustrating, especially when you’re waiting for an important call. As part of an upcoming update, Teams will use advanced industry techniques to identify potential spam calls so you can feel confident answering incoming calls.
Microsoft will also test outgoing calls to prevent these calls from being rejected by external recipients.
Early next year, you’ll be able to transfer calls between your mobile and desktop using a new section within the Teams app. The company will allow you to merge calls and preserve data when you’re in a location with a poor or limited network connection.
Another new feature uses enhanced reverse number look-up to identify the name of the caller and ensure that your calls are not disconnected when you transfer the call and someone on the other end is unavailable.
